Buddy Holly and The Picks

The Picks were a vocal backing group for Buddy Holly; appearing without credit on many early recordings.

In later years, they have recorded backing tracks for most Buddy Holly 'standards', and the albums on this page include various permutations of those 'overdubs'.

The Picks basis for making these recordings is that their early work was very much part of the Buddy Holly and the Crickets 'sound'; fair comment, but in the months before his death, during which many tracks were laid down, Buddy Holly was taking a very different approach.

Ultimately, it's up to you; you may or may not agree with the appropriateness of overdubbing the tracks; though many were very much 'unfinished', and have been overdubbed with various music tracks over the years.
